Chicago’s Union Station Power House was built in 1932 as a power plant for the nation’s busiest railroad hub. At its peak, the structure’s constant churning bolstered the economic and industrial growth of Chicago in the mid 20th century. Its bones now stand strong 301 W. Taylor St. along the Chicago River as one of the last remnants of Chicago’s industrial boom. The Union Station Power House now awaits repurpose or demolition.
